The popular Swedish publication Expressen, known today for its characteristic high-profile journalistic, political and economic investigations, was first published on November 16, 1944. It is published in three regional versions for Stockholm, Malmo and Gothenburg. Translated from Swedish, its name literally means «Express». The publication's slogan is «Stories that move readers». The publication focuses on author's, high-quality, significant and sensational materials with a large number of photos. In the period 1969-2009, Expressen was the second most popular and widely distributed publication in Sweden after Aftonbladet. In the southern regions of Sweden and the city of Malmo, the newspaper is published under a different name, «Kvällsposten», and in the west — «Göteborgs-Tidningen» (GT). The newspaper is owned by the Bonnier media company.
