The most popular, widely circulated and widely distributed daily newspaper in Colombia today, a characteristic representative of the so-called «yellow» press. Its daily readership is more than 1.6 million people. it is distributed in 12 versions in all departments of the country, with a total circulation of 387 thousand copies every day. The newspaper belongs to the «Grupo Nacional de Medios S.A.» group of companies. The Qhubo brand was created in 2005. The success of this newspaper was helped by the financial crisis in Colombia in 2008, when many local low-budget newspapers became unprofitable and were threatened with closure («El Pais» of Cali, «El Colombiano» of Medellín, «Vanguardia Liberal» of Bucaramanga, «El Universal» of Cartagena). To save the publications from disappearing, they were bought out by the media company together with the editorial offices and transformed into one single one, called «Qhubo». The name gazeta is derived from the abbreviation «que hubo», which can be translated literally as «What happened» or «Fact», that is, the newspaper tells about events of the day. The newspaper is published in a compact or tabloid format, printed in color on about 30 pages, and the newspaper's corporate color is yellow. Perhaps it also explains the content of the newspaper-yellow press and yellow journalism, sensationalism and tabloid news (briefly about everything, a minimum of text, large headlines, a lot of graphics and illustrations). The newspaper always has a lot of crosswords and puzzles, they take up at least 5 pages. Other sections: incidents, show business, billboard, health, technology, horoscopes, contests and quizzes, sports, coupons, ads. Newspaper ads are printed separately from the main content.
