In 1870, the publication became the property of the publishing house «Buchdruckerei Wetzikon AG» (Zürcher Oberland Medien AG), which renamed the newspaper «Der Freisinnige». Published daily since 1912. In 1961, the newspaper was renamed «Zürcher Oberländer» after the «Volksblatt vom Bachtel» (1861) joined the publication a year earlier.
