The Bulgarian newspaper with name «Дневник» («Dnevnik») (The Diary) was founded in 2001. It was conceived as a business newspaper focused on the domestic Bulgarian financial and business sector with market reviews, various analytics and forecasts. Other topics that have always been paid attention to: banking, education, career, small business, legislation. «Dnevnik» was the last Bulgarian newspaper published in the large-format version of «Broadsheet», in 2005 it was shortened to «Compact». It belongs to the publishing company «Economedia».

The main editorial line of the «Дневник» was aimed at providing Bulgarian businesses with maximum freedoms and non-interference of the state in the affairs of entrepreneurs. The circulation of the publication was approximately 12 thousand copies, half of which was distributed free of charge in company representative offices, business centers, and at exhibitions. In November 2005, «Dnevnik» launched the weekly newspaper «Morski Dnevnik» (The Seaside Diary) for the Black Sea region of Bulgaria, which is published as an appendix to the main newspaper on Friday.

The last printed issue of the newspaper was published in 2011, but due to financial problems, it was reorganized into a versatile online publication. At the moment, the «Dnevnik» is published only in electronic form on its official website and its name now accurately reflects its new concept of the newspaper-the diary of events. Today, the newspaper covers a wide range of Bulgarian and international news, not only business topics, but also offers readers thematic content on politics, economy, modern technologies, sports, leisure and recreation, travel, healthy lifestyle, parenting, entertainment. The focus is on the active participation of readers — all materials can be marked and commented on, you can send your own news and even write your own article.
