A newspaper with name «Борба» was first published in 1943 in Tarnovo, Bulgaria. During the Soviet period, «Borba» was one of the central communist newspapers of the northern foothills of the Balkans and the Velikotyrnov region, published under the traditional slogan for this period: «Proletarians from the vsichki strani, get together!» (Proletarians of all countries, unite!). Translated into English, the name of the newspaper sounds like «Struggle». During the post-communist period, the newspaper went through a process of privatization. On the basis of her editorial team, the «Borba Publishing House» was organized, which eventually became an independent commercial enterprise (book publishing and advertising activities). In addition to publishing this newspaper, the editorial board publishes various printed materials: books, textbooks, brochures, calendars. It is a member of the Regional Press Association, known as «Bulgarian Association for Regional Media» (BARM).
Bulgarian «Borba» is a regional daily newspaper of the Veliko Tarnovo region, which is distributed in all its municipalities: V. Tarnovo, Oryakhovitsa, Zlataritsa and Sukhindol, Lyaskovets, Pavlikeni, Svishtov, Strazhitsa, P. Trambesh. The modern slogan of the publication is «Oblastniyat vsekidnevnik, s traditsii» (Regional daily with traditions). The newspaper adheres to an independent view, tries to be objective and interesting for any readership. The daily primarily publishes regional, city and regional news: society, crime, society, economy, education, agriculture, health, culture, sports, historical notes. Supplement to the newspaper is a «Polski Trmbesh».
